Former Real Housewives of Melbourne star Gina Liano has started her own podcast in which she presides over and passes judgment on petty squabbles.

It’s called Judge Gina and it’s dumb fun. Think Judge Judy but stupider, with a dose of Australian humour.

For listeners not familiar with reality television – bless your socks – Liano is one of the breakout stars from the Australian iteration of the Real Housewives franchise.

If only Judge Liano was available 9-5 to adjudicate petty disputes.

The former defence barrister, known for her heavy make-up and love of sequins, has written a book and released perfume, shoes and fake tanning products.

So why wouldn’t Liano start a podcast? All the other reality stars are doing it.

Judge Gina is not quite Judy Sheindlin of Judge Judy but she’s good at deadpan humour.

For example: “I don’t mind being insulted, I think it’s quite exciting to be insulted sometimes.”

On Judge Gina episode one, Kyle and Jackie O star Pete Deppeler, known as Intern Pete, wants colleague Tom Whittaker to pay him money for lifts to work across more than three years.

When Liano asks Intern Pete if he should have asked for the money at the time he was giving Whittaker lifts, he answers “It’s fair what you’re saying but I believe I dropped multiple hints.”

Why would listeners want to listen to a reality television star pass judgment on warring man babies like some kind of diamante encrusted King Solomon?

Because life is hard and sometimes you just need to laugh at the absurdity of someone else’s life.

It’s immensely satisfying to hear Liano scold her guests like some kind of impatient primary school teacher.

If only Judge Liano was available 9-5 to adjudicate petty disputes with friends, family and colleague, life would be so much better.

Episode two concerns a dispute between Liano’s fellow RHOM alumni Gamble Breaux and Pettifleur Berenger, who both remain influencers of some sort or another.

Berenger arrived two hours late to an event hosted by Breaux that involved racing Pomeranians for charity.

Breaux tells the podcast that each dog required two people to run to and from and Berenger’s tardiness meant one Pomeranian didn’t have their second person, throwing the entire event into chaos.

“There was carnage on the race fields,” says Breaux.

Judge Gina’s deadpan questioning on why Berenger was late to the charitable Pomeranian racing event is very funny.

When Liano asks Berenger whether her tardiness was a decision, the influencer responds with a touch of defensiveness “I probably had other things.”

“I’m not just going to be late for the heck of it. I either get there or I don’t get there.

“This time I figured I would support Gamble.

“I didn’t think Gamble would care. At the end of the day, I said maybe.”

The production sounds cheap but the drama delivers.
