Vows exchanged at Kyle Sandilands’ ‘million-dollar’ Sydney wedding
Radio star Kyle Sandilands has officially tied the knot with Tegan Kynaston — and the Prime Minister was left holding the baby (briefly).
Radio personality Kyle Sandilands has officially tied the knot with long-time partner and former office manager now communications director, Tegan Kynaston.
The 51-year-old was married in front of about 130 guests, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, NSW Premier Chris Minns and his radio co-host Jackie “O’’ Henderson, and a wide slice of Sydney society.
After Saturday’s ceremony, Mr Albanese held baby Otto with partner Jodie Haydon labelling him “the baby whisperer”.
“Are you free Wednesday night to babysit,” Ms Kynaston joked.
“I’ll be in London, so just drop him round,” the Prime Minister replied, referring to the coming coronation, laughing as he held the baby.
“Have the best day,” he said to Mr Sandilands.
“We’re so lucky,” Mr Sandilands told The Sunday Telegraph. “And it’s weird because when you can marry your friend, it’s good.
“We already know we like each other, we already know a lot about each other.
“And she was very calm – I thought maybe she would bridezilla it, but she didn’t.”
In a energetic video shared to the Kyleandjackieo Instagram page, the newly married Mr and Mr Sandilands can be seen loudly celebrating surrounded by family and friends.
Earlier the million-dollar nuptials were delayed after Jackie O was late due to traffic.
The radio personality wedded his longtime partner, Ms Kynaston, at eastern Sydney’s historic Swifts mansion at Darling Point in what reputedly was a million-dollar event.
Exchanging their vows, a normally stoic Mr Sandilands appeared to shed tears as said “I do”. Ms Kynaston wore a white, off-the-shoulder Michelle Mason gown with hair out and flowing veil, kissing her husband in front of their cheering guests.
Jackie O pulled up to the event alongside her daughter Kitty in a black BMW, wearing a floral Zimmerman dress.
In a livestream, it was revealed Jackie O was 10 minutes late due to bad traffic.
She told media she was “relieved” Mr Sandilands was finally getting married.
“Finally he’s settling down, he’s a happy man, it will be a happy day,” the radio host said.
In a first look, the relaxed groom posed alongside his groomsmen in fresh photos ahead of the ceremony.
Minutes before Ms Kynaston was set to walk down the aisle, Instagram images of Sandilands with his groomsmen John Ibrahim and Simon Main appeared on his show’s KIIS 106.5fm Instagram page.
Mr Sandilands is wearing navy suit pants paired with a vest and a light-blue tie.
Mr Albanese on Saturday quashed rumours he would be manning the DJ deck at the wedding, but confirmed he had been invited.
The wedding an reception were at the heritage Swifts mansion in Darling Point.
Last year, Mr Albanese said he’d perform a DJ set should the radio king provide an invitation.
During an appearance in Hobart on Saturday morning Mr Albanese put the rumours to bed for good.
When asked if he would be DJing, he simply responded: “No”.
“Yes, I was invited to the wedding, yes, I was invited in the context of Kyle saying how happy he was with Tegan, with this relationship, of his and with baby Otto coming along and I look forward to witnessing their expression of love between two people this afternoon,” Mr Albanese said.
In an interview between Mr Sandilands and Mr Albanese earlier in the week, he said the Prime Minister would be charged with keeping his mother company at the wedding.
“She’s a fan of yours, so she’s going to lose her mind,” the radio star told him live on air.
