Fans dazzle Taylor Swift in Australian launch

Pop superstar Taylor Swift kicked off her Australian tour tonight amid a dazzle of flashing wristbands on the 76,000 fans at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium.
It was the biggest crowd the American singer has performed to on her 1989 World Tour, which ends with its Australian leg.
Parading down a giant catwalk in the middle of the stadium, Swift led her large band and troupe of dancers through her catalogue of global hits including Shake it Off, Bad Blood and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
Her hit Blank Space was one of many to inspire a mass singalong in the large crowd.
Swift proved why she is the world’s leading pop performer with a two-hour set that was visually spectacular and musically dynamic.
Whether sailing over the crowd carried by a large jib, rocking out behind an electric guitar or sitting at a piano, Swift commanded attention at every turn.
It helped also that she is armed with a repertoire of A-grade pop anthems, with Out of the Woods and Love Story just two of the highlights.
Slick, professional, excellently staged it was but, with Swift’s passion at its heart, this was a pop performance well nigh perfect.
The tour continues in Brisbane next Saturday.
