Raygun, the Australian B-girl whose hypnotically deranged performance in the debut breaking competition at the Paris Olympic Games broke the internet over the weekend, has found a celebrity fan in the Grammy-winning musician Adele.
During a concert in Munich over the weekend, Adele, 33, took a moment to shout out ‘the breakdancing lady.’
“I have to ask you, because it’s all me and my friends have been talking about last night … I think it’s the best thing that’s happened in the Olympics the entire time, did anyone see the breakdancing lady?” Adele asked the crowd.
“Now I didn’t know that breakdancing was even an Olympic sport these days. I think that’s f — king fantastic. I really, really do.”
Adele then turned to her bandmates, asking them if they’d seen it.
“Aaron, my percussionist, is pissing himself laughing just thinking about it … I can’t work out if it was a joke, but either way, it has made me very, very happy and me and my friends have been s — ting ourselves laughing,” she continued.
“But I just wanted to know if you’ve seen it. If you haven’t seen it, please leave the show and go Google it because it is LOLs, it is so f — king funny.”

When she’s not busting moves on the world stage in a daggy green polo tracksuit, Raygun, 36, goes by Dr. Racheal Gunn, a lecturer at Macquarie University in Sydney. Her research delves into “dance, gender politics, and the dynamics between theoretical and practical methodologies.” She qualified for the Olympics after winning the 2023 Oceania Breaking Championships.
While Raygun left the competition empty-handed after earning straight zeros against her opponents from Lithuania, the United States, and France, this jolly swag-less woman gave us something to bond over. After all, The Paris Games added breaking to appeal to a younger audience, and, well, have you opened TikTok this morning?
