Paws up, little monsters: Lady Gaga is heading back to Australia for the first time in 11 years.

The pop icon has announced her return with The Mayhem Ball, a new world tour that will bring her to Australian stadiums for the first time in her career.

Gaga will perform in Melbourne on December 5 (Marvel Stadium), Brisbane on December 9 (Suncorp Stadium), and Sydney on December 12 (Accor Stadium).

The tour kicks off later this month in Mexico and will wind through Brazil, Singapore, the United States (where she will headline Coachella), the United Kingdom, and Europe before landing on Australian shores just in time for summer.

It’s been more than a decade since Gaga last performed in Australia — her most recent visit was for 2014’s ArtRave: The Artpop Ball — but her presence on the global stage has been anything but quiet.

Over the course of her two-decade career, Lady Gaga has proven to be one of pop’s most daring and versatile performers.

She emerged with the dirty dance-floor anthems of The Fame (2008), leaned into glam-rock theatrics on Born This Way (2011), explored Americana on Joanne (2016), and collaborated with her friend, the late Tony Bennett, on an album of American Songbook Standards.

In 2018, she made her big-screen debut in A Star Is Born, the Bradley Cooper-directed remake of the Hollywood classic. Her original songs for the film — including the worldwide hit ‘Shallow’ — with which Gaga became the first woman to win an Oscar, BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Grammy Award in the same year.

The Mayhem Ball tour arrives in support of her latest album, Mayhem, which debuted in March and quickly topped charts in Australia, the US, and beyond. It marks Gaga’s fifth consecutive No. 1 album in Australia.

Gaga hinted at an Australian tour back in March, while speaking on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick.

“I miss my fans there so much, I really do,” Gaga told the station. “I have such fond memories of being in Australia, it’s a beautiful place and I really do want to come back soon.”

Pre-sale tickets will be available to Mastercard holders beginning Monday, April 14, with general public access opening on Thursday, April 17.
