We’ve seen some extraordinary developments today, in what was the 12th day of the Israel-Iran conflict.
Thank you for joining us as we continued our live coverage. We’ll be back in the morning with more as the world waits to see whether this ceasefire will hold.
Here’s a quick overview of the latest developments:
- US President Donald Trump unleashed a tirade against both Israel and Iran, saying he was particularly unhappy with the former, and neither country “know what the f--- they’re doing”.
- Israel, soon after announcing it agreed to the ceasefire, claimed Iran violated the truce with intercepted missile strikes. Iran rejected this claim.
- Trump said that Israel was “not going to attack Iran” in retaliation, before reports circulated Israel struck a sole Iranian radar site during the ceasefire.
- Before both sides were accused of breaching the agreement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had achieved its war goals, including removing the threat of Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
- An earlier Iranian missile strike on an apartment block in southern Israel killed four people and left more than 20 people injured.
- Nine people were also killed in Israeli strikes on residential buildings in the northern Iranian province of Gilan before the ceasefire came into effect, according to Reuters.
- In Gaza, Israeli forces and drones opened fire towards hundreds of people waiting for aid trucks, killing at least 25 people, Palestinian witnesses and hospitals said.
