In north-western Sydney, Blacktown residents will vote for the councillors they want for the next four years on their council.
It has five wards, with voters in each ward selecting three councillors. The current council has a strong Labor majority, led by mayor Bill Bunting.
With more than 410,000 residents, the LGA is the largest, by population size, in the state. That number of people, with multiple high-growth areas, has resulted in growing pains in some areas.
There are 43 candidates up for election at Blacktown City Council this term. Eight responded to the Sydney Morning Herald’s survey.
Their responses have been lightly edited for clarity.
