George Calombaris opens first Sydney Jimmy Grants outlet
George Calombaris' first Sydney souvlaki bar is open for business. The Press Club chef and MasterChef judge announced the opening of Jimmy Grants in Sydney Central Plaza on social media Tuesday morning.
The menu at the Westfield CBD site features six types of souva including the Mr Papadopoulos ($12.90) with slow-roasted lamb, chips, parsley, mustard aioli and onion wrapped in pita bread, and the Americano ($14.90) with beef short-rib wrapped with barbecue sauce, pickles and chips. (Hot chips are common to most souvas.)
Lighter options include a grain salad ($10.90) with pulses, nuts, herbs, coriander and Greek yoghurt ($10.90) and a beet salad ($10.90) featuring roast beetroot, lemon, tahini yoghurt and smoked almonds.
Jimmy Grants at Sydney Central Plaza is the seventh location of the fast-casual Greek restaurant in Australia. Calombaris opened the first Jimmy Grants in Melbourne's Fitzroy four years ago.
A second Sydney store is set to launch in Newtown mid-November.
Open Mon-Wed 9am-7pm; Thu 10am-9pm; Fri 10am-9pm; Sat 10am-7pm; Sun 10am-6pm.
