The Bachelor Australia's Lisa Hyde speaks out: 'I am definitely not pregnant'

By Candice Barnes

The Bachelor Australia runner-up Lisa Hyde has quashed pregnancy rumours in the wake of Thursday night's season finale.

On Friday morning, a picture of the Queensland fashion designer was uploaded to what is believed to be her Instagram account, with a caption that described the show as "an incredible journey".

"I can confirm the rumour and I am definitely not pregnant with Blakes baby... Lol," the post read.

"I wish Sam and Blake all the best in the next chapter of their lives."

Garvey proposed to Frost, a 25-year-old financial consultant in Victoria, on the finale of The Bachelor Australia, which went to air last night. Frost was the most popular pick to win Garvey's heart after she dropped the 'L' word in Wednesday's penultimate episode.

Hyde, 27, wasn't without her own charms. But it wasn't enough to seal Garvey's heart on the show.

Yet the rumour mill surrounding Garvey's affections went into overdrive on Thursday night after Channel Ten cancelled scheduled post-finale media interviews. Some speculated that the 32-year-old Perth-based bachelor and winner Frost were no longer an item, while others suggested one of the Bachelorettes was pregnant.

On Friday, Channel Ten confirmed in a statement that Frost and Garvey were no longer engaged, but gave no clear reason, except to say that Garvey was the one to break it off.

Frost appears to be equally confused about the break-up after a post on an unverified Twitter account said: "I'm just as in the dark as you all are.. Blake is the one calling all the shots here."

Garvey broke off his relationship with Sam once they arrived back in Australia after filming in South Africa.

"Network Ten can confirm that Blake and Sam have sadly ended their engagement. When Blake proposed to Sam in South Africa, he did so because he had genuinely fallen in love with her. He was excited to start a life with Sam and was very much looking forward to their future together," a Network Ten spokesperson said.

"Unfortunately, not all relationships are meant to be, and feelings invariably change. Once Blake returned to his everyday life, he realised that they both wanted different things from a relationship and had different priorities.

"Blake has the greatest love and respect for Sam, but has made the difficult decision to end the relationship."

A source told Fairfax Media that Garvey was spotted on a Qantas flight to Perth on Thursday, prior to the final episode going to air.
