We’ll be blogging all the action for the Matildas third qualifier on Wednesday, but until then, enjoy your night.
What’s next?
The Matildas have one more match for this round of Olympic qualifiers.
They’ll be taking on Chinese Taipei at 10pm AEDT on Wednesday, November 1 in Perth.
Three wins will see them breeze through to the next round of qualifiers, so I’m sure Tony Gustavsson will have a good mix of experienced players and fresh talent.

The stats at full-time
It’s not just the scoreline that’s in the Matildas favour, all the statistics are too.
The Aussies had a whopping 76 per cent of the possession tonight, and 23 shots at goal (12 on target).
Unfortunately for the Philippines, they were outclassed tonight by an in-form Matildas side that showed they still have all the skill and class from the World Cup.
Matildas win 8-0 in Perth
The Matildas are celebrating their second victory in four days after a comprehensive 8-0 victory over the Philippines tonight.
Sam Kerr and Caitlin Foord walk away with a hat trick, while Clare Wheeler leaves a sold-out Optus Stadium with her first-ever goal as a Matilda.
The Matildas now move to the top of their group and are one step closer to the Olympics next year.
Full-time: Australia 8, Philippines 0
Four minutes stoppage time added
Four minutes of stoppage time added to this half, and Alex Chidiac and Amy Sayer are sniffing around the Philippines goal.
They’re both looking for a goal of their own before full-time, and the Philippines players are exhausted.

Matildas hunting another goal before full-time
We’re inside the final 10 minutes of this match, and it’s been nothing short of masterclass from the Matildas.
They’re already eight goals up, but Australia look very much a chance to score at least one more time before the full-time whistle is blown.

Vine ices hamstring
A small update on Cortnee Vine - she’s icing her left hamstring on the sideline.
She walked off easily, so hopefully it’s nothing serious and just a precautionary measure.

Vine off after just five minutes
Only five minutes after going onto the field, fan favourite Cortnee Vine has been called from the field.
Alex Chidiac takes her place, but fans are looking a bit stunned. Is she injured? Or is this more of Tony’s mind games?

Wheeler scores first-ever goal for Matildas
She’s only just come onto the field, but Clare Wheeler has just scored her first-ever goal for the Matildas.
It was the cross from Ellie Carpenter on the right-edge that put the Matildas in prime position, but Wheeler was calm and collected and scored from right in front of the Philippines goal.
