Super sub Sonny Bill Williams would be the man to sink the sword deep into Wallaby hearts with a pair of brilliant offloads to set up a try early in the second half of the Rugby World Cup final.
Veteran centre Conrad Smith departed at halftime for the All Blacks but they lost little as Williams produced some brilliance in his very first handles to have the Wallabies in dire straights in the decider.
He would draw in three defenders before finding a way to get the arms free. When he did, he put it right on the chest of barnstorming centre Ma'a Nonu, who sliced his way through the gap before hitting the afterburners.
Wallabies fullback Kurtley Beale had little chance as Nonu bolted over to give the All Blacks the perfect start to the second half.

It looked to be curtains for the Wallabies before tries from David Pocock and Tevita Kuridrani gave them some hope.
However, a Beauden Barrett try put it beyond reach with a minute left on the clock and Dan Carter had the final say, kicking his country to a 34-17 World Cup triumph.
