Rich lister who paid $19.5m for iconic Sydney home selling for $46m
Rich lister Tony Denny’s beautiful Point Piper trophy home has hit the market with a price guide of $46 million.
The five-bedroom, six-bathroom property spans three storeys with gun-barrel views of Sydney Harbour.

Set on 670 square metres, the luxury residence features a lavish marble spa, a granite kitchen, a bespoke dressing room, a newly minted gym and an idyllic retreat for guests.
Denny made his fortune selling cars in Europe, before selling up his dealership AAA Autos to Polish private equity firm Abris Capital Partners for $320 million in 2014. He later turned into a property developer as the founder and chief executive of Central Real Capital. His wealth was estimated at $790 million, up 4.6 per cent year-on-year, according to The Australian Financial Review’s Rich List.
The 62-year-old has since become a qualified horticulturist, a major backer of ASX-listed crop nutrient play RLF Agtech, and is based in the Central Coast where he is spending more time on his farm.
“My house in Point Piper, which I truly love, is simply too big for my wife and me and we are looking at downsizing to an apartment in Double Bay, hopefully and eventually to one of the future newly built apartments on top of the Intercontinental,” Denny told The Sydney Morning Herald. “Up until that moment we will purchase an apartment near the water in Double Bay. I am only in Sydney one night a week, and my wife one night a month. Life on the farm in Killcare Heights is simply awesome!”
If the property sells, Denny could double his money for it given he only purchased the residence some four years ago for $19.5 million from dentist Le Tran, after reading about the home up for sale in this very column.
The property has a history of well-known owners, including Seven’s then-commercial director Bruce McWilliam, who sold it to Dr Tran for $16.1 million. McWilliam purchased it two years prior from investment financier Greg Woolley for $13.65 million.
It is now being sold through Monika Tu and Jad Khattar of Black Diamondz Property Concierge by appointment only.
Mirvac chief sells up

In the 14 years since the Hanans have owned the five-bedroom, four-bathroom property, the pair renovated the home while retaining its historic grandeur. They purchased it for $2.95 million in 2011.
Known as Mimosa, the home was featured in Australian House & Garden magazine for the redesign by Annie Wilkes of Annie Wilkes Design and Edwina Withers of Boffi Studio.
The home features Belgian-milled flooring and an atrium design by Marsh Cashman Koolloos with F & D Normoyle Engineering.
While selling agent Maclay Longhurst of Sydney Sotheby’s declined to comment on the deal when contacted, settlement documents have revealed the buyer as Declan Boylan, director of Seven Consulting, which has clients including Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac, Woolworths, Telstra and Stockland, according to the company’s website.
Boylan was making the move from Redfern, where he sold his terrace for circa $4.3 million.
Billionaire’s bachelor pad
Meanwhile, settlement documents have also revealed billionaire and Atlassian co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes as the $15.2 million buyer of a luxury penthouse in Darlinghurst through his family company, directed by Faris Cosic and Casey Taylor.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom atop Angus House exudes a glamorous New York warehouse feel and won Master Builders Association’s best renovation award in 2023.
The Southern Highlands-based Cannon-Brookes bought the city bachelor pad from vendors Dr Jonathan Seeff and his wife Rachelle at auction through Maclay Longhurst of Sydney Sotheby’s, who declined to comment. But the home has already been listed back on the market as a $7000-a-week fully furnished rental.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex has hit the market with a price guide of $2.1 million. The Redmaynes are calling time on the property after owning it for just three years, after purchasing it for $2 million.
It comes as the Gosford-born keeper announced just weeks ago he will farewell Sydney FC after playing for them for nine seasons.
The legendary keeper became a hero of the country after coming off the bench in the final minutes of the FIFA World Cup play-off match against Peru in 2022. His family watched from the Gladesville home as Redmayne blocked Peru’s goal attempt in the penalty shootout, helping secure Australia’s passage to the World Cup that year.
The Redmaynes’ home is scheduled to go to auction on 31 May. It is being sold by Michael Gallina of Belle Property Hunters Hill.
