“We were requested to attend by Queensland Health,” a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Seven News reported that more than 12 people were isolating in the guesthouse and the positive case was not believed to be the aviation worker that tested positive overnight.

The aviation worker was a man in his 30s and has no recent history of overseas or interstate travel. His wife was also reportedly believed to have tested positive.

A Queensland Health statement released on Monday night said the source of the infection was under investigation.

There were exposure sites in the Brisbane suburbs of Eatons Hill, Albany Creek, Aspley and Rocklea during relevant times on Thursday, September 23.

The cases come ahead of the NRL grand final weekend where the Suncorp Stadium is expected to host more than 50,000 people on Sunday.

Since Thursday, Brisbane has hosted two NRL preliminary finals and the Riverfire event.

More information on the cases would be provided at an upcoming press conference on Tuesday.
