Victor Liong's Lawyers Guns and Money to close on Friday
Attention congee fans. Asian breakfast cafe Lawyers Guns and Money will close this Friday but they've assured us it's only a hiatus while they scout a new location.
Lawyers Guns and Money, owned by chef Victor Liong, Peter Bartholomew and David Mackintosh of Lee Ho Fook fame, opened in the city's legal district in March as an early morning congee canteen before having a crack at the dinner crowd.
Quickly finding that the space wasn't working for evening trade, they're now on the hunt for a better, bigger CBD venue. "Sometime this year," says Liong. "We're ready to roll."
In the meantime he hasn't ruled out putting a congee onto the Lee Ho Fook menu to satisfy hungry fans.
Lawyers Guns and Money may be closing at short notice but staff have been absorbed into the Lee Ho Fook team to staff a new bar space that's currently under construction where the downstairs chef's table is now.
The Lee Ho Fook bar is expected to be open by the end of August.
