The trio behind Fin Wines (JonJo McEvoy, Oliver Johns and Angus Hean) blended pinot gris, sauvignon blanc and viognier in this wild white. It's fresh and punchy across the palate. Best consumed while horizontal in a hammock. 12.9 per cent alcohol.

BK Wines 2021 Carte Blanche White

Winemaker Brendon Keys recently released a 2021 range full of hits. Kick things off with this spirited, personality-packed rascal. The blend of chardonnay, savagnin, pinot gris and (just a little) gruner is a masterclass in texture, balance and poise. Winemaker Becky Durham has a smile that lights up a room. Like Durham, this small-batch skin-contact blend of semillon pressed over riesling skins oozes energy and charm. Orange to the eye, it strikes a pose both serious and playful; there's buoyant lemon sherbet and a savoury undercurrent that makes it a great accompaniment to food – especially picnics. 12.8 per cent alcohol.
