Mittagong Hotel

14/20

Mexican$$$

The draw at this country pub is Le Catalan tapas restaurant, where chef Euloge Rivera turns out an impressive array of Spanish tapas favourites (more than 30 different dishes), some with a French twist (Rivera is from just over the French side of the border). The easiest route is to take one of the preset options comprising five of his favourite dishes and work your way through classics such as spicy patatas bravas, garlic prawns, plump pork meatballs and salty chicken croquettes. But save your energy for digesting Rivera's own Euro-pudding, a pistachio, toasted almond and honey ice-cream.
