The Post Office Hotel
Pub dining
The Post Office takes all the elements of an old-school pub, adds a designer flourish or two, an excellent Middle Eastern-influenced menu and a great selection of boutique beers from around the state to create Coburg's best watering hole. The spacious, simply decorated public bar, complete with jukebox and pool table, leads to a restaurant area that's all exposed brick and recycled timber. The beer garden is popular with groups flocking in for the Sunday roast while the bar food - a textbook parma, soft-shell crab tortillas - is worth a visit in itself. Lest things start to feel a little too boutique, live music and DJs keep things rowdy at weekends.
