Mezedakia
Greek$$
Tucked away behind a utilitarian door accessed from a car park, this white-washed taverna is harder to find than some of the city's laneway bars. Dishing out authentic fare, with lashings of charm and good cheer, grazing Mezedakia's menu might involve tender octopus with a squeeze of lemon, the golden crunch of saganaki, or seared button mushrooms tossed with oregano - perfect with a Mythos beer. Mains change nightly - perhaps fall-apart baby goat with waxy lemon potatoes, trad eggplant, potato and lamb moussaka topped with melting cheese, or juicy meatballs blanketed in rich tomato sauce.
