The newly renovated Woolwich Pier is all sleek lines, blondwood floors and glass walls downstairs, with old-world colonial charm upstairs, giving on to one of the best views of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline.

The food is not too shabby either, with the likes of confit duck, pork belly, crab linguine and vegetable millefeuille. The usual hamburger is joined by an excellent gourmet selection of sliders.

Prices aren’t cheap, but there’s a different $12.50 special every Monday to Thursday.

With high teas and scones and clotted cream on the menu, daytime might be best to enjoy the views from this suburban gem.
