What a love rat. Blake Garvey's engagement to Sam Frost was over quicker than Kim Kardashian's first marriage.

A few short months after pledging himself to Frost on The Bachelor, the 31-year-old dumped her because, according to Network Ten, he changed his mind upon re-entry to the real world.

"Once Blake returned to his everyday life, he realised that they both wanted different things from a relationship and had different priorities," a spokeswoman said in a statement.

"Blake has the greatest love and respect for Sam but has made the difficult decision to end the relationship."

    Are you kidding me?

Week after excruciating week, Garvey grilled the bachelorettes on whether they could see a future with him and wanted to have a family. He had plenty of time to work that all out.

Frost has taken to Twitter saying the real estate agent declared splitsville without explanation.

    Lone wolf ... Blake Garvey.

    Lone wolf ... Blake Garvey.

"People need to stop asking why we broke up," Frost tweeted. "Trust me, I'm just as in the dark as you all are. Blake is the one calling all the shots here."

Frost confided to Garvey's Mum she was worried before going on the show her son might be a "douche".

Turns out Frost might have been bang on.

Did Garvey appear on The Bachelor for an ego stroke and to boost his own profile? Perhaps he didn't want to get engaged to any of the women but was pushed into it by the show's producers?

AAP has heard unconfirmed rumours Garvey has been partying in recent weeks with Lisa Hyde, Louise Pillidge and Diana Dinu at Brisbane waterfront clubs Black Bird and Friday's.

Maybe a taste of fame and no doubt lots more female attention dampened his desire to get hitched and have children?

Frost and Garvey's break-up, as well as the faking of Hyde's Noosa family home, serve as reminders of the gap between the real world and 'reality' television shows.

Sure Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich from last year's series are still together but who's to say it wasn't just a fluke.

And lastly, what happened to that whopping, $58,000 platinum diamond engagement ring - who has the sparkler now?

AAP hopes Frost sells the ring and spends the cash on a whirlwind holiday with some of her fellow bachelorettes.

At least it seems something genuine emerged from the series - the friendships formed between the women who put their hearts on the line.

Frost's latest Instagram post is a picture of herself with Hyde.

"We spent the days running a muck around the house, rolling on the ground laughing until we cried ... Oh man, I couldn't be happier to be here in this moment with you @lisa_m_hyde."

"This chick is an absolute legend!!! Xo"
