YOUNG thieves were seen jumping fences and entering multiple homes across the suburbs of Palmerston during a spate of break-ins overnight.
Northern Watch Commander Richard Howie said Palmerston police were kept busy due to a number of unlawful entries occurring through the suburbs on Sunday.
It comes after Alia Hair owner Gaya Campman was left with a hefty $5000 damage bill on Easter Sunday after thieves broke into her Palmerston salon for the third time in six months.
“Numerous reports were received of youths entering yards and premises overnight,” he said.
“One youth was arrested and inquiries are continuing into other offences.”
Cdr Howie said four youths were also apprehended in a stolen motor vehicle in the area early Monday morning.

“It is believed the males stole the victim’s wallet,” he said.
“Police encourage all residents to ensure doors are locked and premises are secure.”
