Woman arrested for drink driving, driving disqualified after police pursuit using drone

CENTRAL Australian police have arrested two people overnight following separate pursuits on local roads.

Southern Watch Commander Alistair Gall said police engaged in a pursuit through Alice Springs after a vehicle was allegedly stolen from a home in Araluen.

He said the car was stopped using tyre deflating devices and police arrested a 16-year-old youth but were still looking for three others who were in the vehicle.

In a separate pursuit a 50-year-old woman was arrested in Tennant Creek after police used a drone to track her movements.

Initially police engaged in a pursuit before terminating it for safety purposes.

“Police deployed a drone which followed the car into a local petrol station where a woman was arrested and charged with drink driving, driving disqualified and driving in a dangerous manner”.
