A 29-YEAR-OLD woman has been arrested for multiple offences after allegedly deliberately trying to run over a male pedestrian in Darwin city overnight.
Northern Watch Commander Siiri Tennosaar said police received several calls from the public reporting that a woman, who was driving a dark blue and silver Nissan Utility, was attempting to run over a man in a car park near Packard Place and Smith St intersection at about 8.30pm on Sunday.
“The woman was also seen colliding with a parked vehicle at the same location,” she said.
“The male pedestrian was uninjured. The parties are known to each other.”
Police arrested the woman at the scene for assault and traffic offences and she remains in custody to be interviewed this morning.
