THERE has been a spike in demand for state-of-the-art security technology in Darwin as businesses struggle to deal with rising crime, experts say.
JC Electronic Security director Justin Clough said he had seen more customers asking for beefed-up security systems to deal with an increasing amount of “career criminals” in Darwin who knew what they’re doing.
“Youth crime has gotten really bad, Darwin’s lost its innocence,” Mr Clough said.

“It’s not like it was a few years ago, most of these thieves are organised now.
“Most business owners come in looking to upgrade their security systems with CCTV and alarms but those who are getting broken into again and again are opting for something next level.”
