POLICE temporarily cordoned off parts of Mitchell St while investigating reports of an alleged assault outside a Darwin city restaurant this morning.

A section of road outside Outback Steaks and Curry was cordoned off this morning as police inspected the scene.

A NT Police spokeswoman confirmed they were investigating a report of an alleged assault but said police are unable to confirm further details at this time.
