POLICE are set to charge a number of people after they allegedly stole alcohol from a licenced premises in Palmerston overnight.
Northern Watch Commander Andrew Heath said Police were alerted to a break-in at a licenced premises in Palmerston, where alcohol had been stolen just before midnight on Sunday.
“We sent a number of Palmerston police units out, and they were searching for the offenders,” he said.
“They found a 17-year-old youth in possession of alcohol on University Ave; three other offenders ran off into the Palmerston water park.
“Police searched the park and arrested three males aged 19, 23 and 35 years old.
“A search through the area located further stolen property.

“All four males are currently in the Palmerston watch house and will likely be charged with a number of property offences later today.”
