POLICE are calling for witnesses to a crash between a car and a motorbike in Humpty Doo on Friday which left the motorcyclist seriously injured.

A 2014 black Sym HD2 motorcycle reportedly crashed into the back of a white Subaru XV station wagon outside a service station on Arnhem Highway, Humpty Doo just before 1pm.

The 76-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance with serious injuries and remains in a stable condition.

The 52-year-old female driver did not suffer any injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicles involved before the crash is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
