A MOTORCYCLIST seemingly trying to keep the Supercars spirit alive has been charged for allegedly riding more than 100km/h over the speed limit.

The 29-year-old male driver was stopped at around midday on Sunday by police who were using a speed camera near Hidden Valley.
He was allegedly clocked going 202 km/h in an 100 km/h zone.
The 29-year-old was charged with a number of offences including driving at a speed that is dangerous to the public and will appear in the Darwin Local Court on September 8.
In a separate incident, a P-plate driver was allegedly clocked driving 153km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Tiger Brennan Drive near Amy Johnson Drive.

He was charged with a range of offences including P plater driving over 100km/h and driving at a speed dangerous to the public.
He will appear in court on a date to be set.
