A MAN in Wadeye had a crossbow bolt shot through his foot during an altercation which turned nasty.
The man was taken to the local clinic to be treated for his injuries.
At 2.23am Wednesday police at the remote community of Wadeye west of Darwin, received reports of an alleged aggravated assault.

Duty Superintendent Tony Deutrom said police believe the man wasshot in the foot with an arrow from a crossbow.

He said police are not sure what sparked the altercation and how many people were involved.
