A MAN has been arrested and charged for allegedly robbing drivers in their cars at knifepoint on three separate occasions across the Top End.

A man has been charged for allegedly robbing drivers in their cars at knifepoint on three separate occasions across the Top End.

A MAN has been charged over a series of armed robberies across the Top End over a four-month period.

It is alleged the 27-year-old man robbed drivers in their cars at knifepoint on three separate occasions.

In the first incident, the 27-year-old is accused of using an edged weapon to threaten and steal money from a 25-year-old driver in Parap in October.

He then allegedly threatened and robbed a 29-year-old driver sitting in his car outside a venue in Palmerston in ­November and then allegedly threatened and robbed a taxi driver in Driver this month.

Detectives from the Crime Division and the Territory Response Group arrested the man on Sunday evening.

He will be charged with three counts of aggravated robbery and was due to face Darwin Local Court yesterday.

Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Malogorski said that the man’s arrest was the culmination of a thorough investigation.

“This was excellent investigative work by Crime Division detectives, Territory Intelligence and the Territory Response Group working together that led to this man’s apprehension for ­serious crimes.”
