A KNIFE wielding bandit has been arrested after assaulting a man outside a popular Darwin venue overnight.
Northern Watch Commander Siiri Tennosaar said the man injured another during the assault before he was arrested by Police.
“A 23 year old male has been arrested after arming himself with a knife and assaulting a person outside a licensed premises in Darwin overnight,” she said.
“The incident occurred just after midnight in the CBD, during which a 26 year old male suffered a large laceration to his arm.”
Snr Sgt Tennosaar said both the victim and culprit were taken from the scene by authorities.
“The victim was taken to hospital for treatment,” she said.
“The offender remains in custody to be interviewed later today.”
