ASSAULTS across the NT remain high with the latest police crime statistics revealing the rate per 100,000 jumped almost 20 per cent in the year to February.

Alcohol-related assaults jumped a staggering 28 per cent while domestic violence-related assaults jumped 26 per cent.

Police have previously raised concerns about the increase in domestic violence-fuelled assaults off the back of the changes in living due to coronavirus.

The number of reported sexual assaults, house break-ins, commercial break-ins, vehicle theft and property damage have all seen a drop in incidents.
