A CONVICTED drug dealer and suspected associate of the Hells Angels bikie gang boss has had to go into lockup wearing a moon boot after being sentenced to jail yesterday.

Daniel Brown, 26, appeared in the Darwin Local Court wearing a moon boot because of a foot injury and pleaded guilty to a raft of drug and weapon possession charges.

He was arrested in January after police searched a shed in Yarrawonga and found him to be in possession of a small amount of meth, a number of dangerous weapons and more than $2000 cash from the sale of meth.

The NT News understands Brown was arrested alongside Hells Angels sergeant-at-arms Phil O’Shea, who was the target of the police raid.

Prosecutor Naomi Loudon told the court Brown should serve a term of actual imprisonment based on the Crown’s submission he intended to supply the meth.

However, Brown’s lawyer Matt Hubber said his client was taking meth at the time but has since “gotten over it”.

“He and a small group of friends supplied methamphetamine to each other,” Mr Hubber said. “He’s gotten over it, he’s back at work.

“He’s fallen into this and come out of it.”

During sentencing, Judge Greg Cavanagh said Brown’s offending had a “sinister implication”.

Brown was found with weapons including several rounds of ammunition, knuckle dusters and a flick knife disguised as a credit card.

“The guy’s got an armoury of not just offensive weapons, deadly weapons as a small time drug peddler in the suburbs of Darwin,” Mr Cavanagh said.

Brown was sentenced to six months prison suspended after one month.

“You think about your future over the next three-and-a-half weeks sir,” Mr Cavanagh told Brown.
