A HUMPTY DOO man accused of attempted murder for allegedly running a man over with his car in what is believed to be an Australia Day road rage incident intends to apply for bail.
Darryl Dighton, 49, appeared via video link at Darwin Local Court from prison on Wednesday after he was charged with attempted murder on January 28.
Dighton allegedly drove to the Acacia Hills home of his 34-year-old victim where the pair hit each other with bats and sticks before Dighton ran over his victim in his car and then reversed and ran over him a second time.

NT News understands the victim of the attack remains in hospital with serious spinal injuries.
Dighton’s lawyer Peter Maley requested that his client be assessed for electronic monitoring and will then apply for bail depending on the outcome of the assessment.
He will return to court on March 2.
