AN ELDERLY man has been robbed overnight while sitting in his car just up the road from a police station.
The brazen attack occurred at 9.30pm in the carpark at the Casuarina Library – just 240m from the Casuarina police station.
Watch Commander Acting Senior Sergeant Sonia Kennon said the 72-year-old man was sitting in his car when he was approached by three people.
The trio allegedly assaulted the man before running off with his money.
A/Sen Sgt Kennon would not say how much cash was taken.
It is alleged a sharp object was held to the man’s throat before the three made off with the money.
Police are not exactly sure what weapon was used.
Police were able to track the trio using CCTV and arrested one person in the city.
Strike Force Trident is still searching for a man and a woman.
The man is described as being caucasian, aged in his 30s, wearing a dark cap, sunnies and thongs.

The woman is described as being Aboriginal, of a heavy build and wearing a white shirt with red writing and dark shorts.
Her hair was also in a bun and she wore a light-coloured headband.
