Updated, 4.15pm: The boy missing since Thursday has been found.

The boy’s mother in a statement to this masthead confirmed the 13-year-old had been found.

She said she wished to let the public know he was fine.

Found: Darwin teenager found after 24 hours

Initial, 2.20pm: Police have confirmed a Darwin teenager missing since Thursday has been sighted on Friday.

Pleas to help find the child were posted on social media by the child’s mother, Christine Tricia Ramos late on Thursday seeking help to find the 13-year-old boy.

Ms Ramos turned to Facebook’s Darwin Mums and Kids page, among others, urging anybody who’d seen her son, Edel Marcelo Ramos, to contact police via the triple-zero line.

She posted the boy was last seen wearing a green long-sleeve fishing shirt, black bucket hat and had been carrying fishing gear.

She said he could usually be seen with a bike, fishing around Stokes Hill or Cullen Bay.

Ms Ramos’ post has been widely shared across social media, and police had been notified of the disappearance.

After being contacted by this masthead, Police confirmed they had received a report of the missing boy.

An NT Police spokesperson said they were investigating the incident, but confirmed he had been sighted this morning.

They urged anybody with information to contact police on 131444 and quote P24280480.
