Netflix star Matt Wright is still seeking to make a plea deal over an alleged conspiracy to destroy evidence in the wake of a fatal chopper crash.
On Thursday the Outback Wrangler’s defence team told the Supreme Court they were still negotiating with prosecutors over the single charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
It comes more than two years after his friend and fellow reality television star Chris ‘Willow’ Wilson was killed in a horrific helicopter crash while crocodile egg collecting through paperbark swamp at the King River, West Arnhem in February 2022.
Mr Wright was accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice by destroying evidence in the wake of the crash.
A number of other charges, including menacing or intimidating chopper pilot Sebastian Robinson, are still pending the resolution of the Supreme Court matter.
Mr Wight has previously said he was hopeful the remaining charges would be withdrawn once the pervert the course of justice charge was finalised.
The Outback Wrangler‘s matter was adjourned to the “super call over list” in the Supreme Court on August 1.
