A Northern Territory police officer has been served with a notice to appear in court following an alleged assault incident earlier this month.
The 39-year-old man has been charged with one count of aggravated assault for an incident in Palmerston on August 2.
He is set to appear in the Darwin Local Court on September 16.
In the meantime, NT Police have stated the officer has been suspended from duty with pay.
Police have said “due to the case being before the courts, no additional information will be provided at this time”.
