EACH year, hundreds of missing persons reports are made to police in the Northern Territory.
About 98 per cent of these people are found safe and well, but sadly, some have vanished and have never been seen again.
The vast and unforgiving landscape of the Northern Territory means going without essential supplies can quickly turn into a dire situation.
There is a range of reasons people can go missing, including mental illness, miscommunication, misadventure, domestic violence, and being a victim of crime.
Anyone, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or educational background, may become a missing person.
If you have information on a missing person you should report it to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Crime Stoppers will refer the information to the relevant missing persons unit or the investigating officer on the case.
