HIGH profile Darwin real estate agent Karl Secondis will avoid a date with the Supreme Court on a charge of possessing a commercial quantity of cocaine, his lawyer says.
Secondis was stood down from his position with Ray White after the nationwide company became aware of the charge last month.
On Wednesday, his lawyer Peter Maley successfully applied for a further adjournment in the Darwin Local Court to allow prosecutors to consider representations on behalf of his client.
“This matter’s in the process of being negotiated and it will be resolving summarily,” he said.
In a statement, Ray White said it does not “tolerate behaviour that doesn’t mirror its values”.
“Ray White Darwin is a family owned and operated business with a very high standing in the local community,” it reads.
“Agent Karl Secondis has been stood down from the business and we cannot comment any further on any matters that are before the court.”
The case returns to court on October 13.
