Matter of alleged murderer Lenny Frank heard in Darwin Local Court

Three months ago, a 62-year-old man was found on a Palmerston street with serious injuries, which he later succumbed to. Now, his alleged murderer has been named.

A man accused of murdering a 62-year-old man has been named – more than three months after the alleged incident occurred.

On Wednesday afternoon, the matter of Lenny Frank, now 46, was mentioned in Darwin Local Court.

Mr Frank has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering serious harm and less-than-trafficable quantity of schedule two drugs.

Police allege he kicked a 62-year-old man in the head several times before fleeing the scene on Palmerston Circuit on February 19.

The man was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with serious injuries and died on March 2 as a result.

Mr Frank was arrested the same day as the incident and initially appeared in court charged with recklessly endanger causing serious harm and aggravated assault.

However, following the death of the alleged victim, his charge was upgraded to murder and he was remanded to appear in court again.

Mr Frank’s matter was adjourned to July 16 for a preliminary examination mention.
