A male has died at the scene of a bus crash this afternoon and a number of passengers have been injured. NT Police, NT Fire and Rescue Service and St John are all at the scene.

UPDATED: A male has died at the scene of a a bus crash in Central Australia this afternoon.

Northern Territory Police and other emergency services personnel are on the scene of the crash which happened 5km east of Hermannsburg.

A number of other passengers have been injured and are being treated by the local clinic and medical staff who have travelled from Alice Springs.

Emergency services received a report of the crash around 3.30pm. NT Police, NT Fire and Rescue Service and St John are all at the scene.

Motorists are asked to be aware of emergency vehicles operating in the area and to follow all directions.

Heavy vehicles should consider using Namatjira Drive.

NT Police Major Crash Investigation Unit and NT Worksafe are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Emergency services responding to reports of bus crash

EARLIER: Emergency services are heading to the scene of a bus crash in Central Australia.

NT Police confirmed emergency services personnel were responding to reports of a bus crash 5km east of Hermannsburg.

They asked motorists to be aware of emergency vehicles operating in the area.

The NT Fire Emergency Map advised fire crews were responding to a road crash on Raberaba Cct, at Hermannsburg, Ntaria.

The road crash, 127km west of Alice Springs, was initially reported at 3.28pm.

Traffic crash at Bagot Rd causes Friday afternoon traffic chaos

MOTORISTS on one of Darwin’s busiest roads are being redirected via service roads after a crash on Friday afternoon.

Pictures show a small white car being involved in a crash in the northbound lanes of Bagot Rd, at around 4pm.

Eyewitnesses have told the NT News the lanes northbound are closed and traffic is being diverted around the crash.

Truck wedged on Tiger Brennan Dr

A TRUCK is stuck on Tiger Brennan Dr following a slew of collisions on the inbound lane.

Emergency services responded to two collisions on the inbound left lane on Tiger Brennan Dr in Winnellie.

The five or six vehicles have since been mostly removed from the road with traffic beginning to flow normally.

However, a truck remains stuck in the middle of the highway unable to move back onto the road.

There were no injuries, but delays are expected.
