A remote Northern Territory policeman who stalked a woman for three months was captured pressuring his victim into sex, ignoring her pleas to stop and calling her a “little s—t”.

On Thursday, the 31-year-old man, who is no longer employed by NT Police — whose name has been suppressed — pleaded guilty to committing an act of gross indecency without consent and stalking in 2023.

Supreme Court Justice John Burns heard the remote station cop stalked his ex-partner for more than three months before he sexually assaulted her on September 16.

The court previously heard the officer had an “on again, off again” relationship with the woman, and invited himself into her home.

In a five minute video recording, the woman was heard repeatedly telling the man she did not want to have sex with him and asking him to leave.

“Don’t, don’t, don’t … please, I don’t want to sleep with you,” she said.

“You like sitting on me and choking me.

“Just leave me alone, please.”

Despite her repeated protests, the man was recorded pressuring her into sex saying “say you want it” and calling her a “little s—t”.

“No, I don’t want to sleep with you,” she told him, her voice getting increasingly panicked as she repeatedly told him “no”.

The man then accused the woman of “f—king anyone else in (the town) but me”, and grilled her over whether she was seeing other people.

The woman repeatedly told him to leave her home, before he replied “at least let me jerk off and then I’ll go”.

“No, you have to go,” she told him.

The man was initially charged with rape, strangling and aggravated assault, however those charges were amended a day before his final plea to stalking and gross indecency without consent.

The officer was about to be transferred to the Alice Springs police station when he was arrested and remanded in custody.

His barrister Mary Chalmers said the now-former police officer had found new employment.

Justice Burns allowed the man to appear for his next hearing via a video link on May 14, but said he would need to attend in person for his sentencing.
