A LAST second goal sealed an incredibly tight 11.7 (73) to 10.7 (67) win for Southern Districts, seeing off a thrilling fourth-quarter surge from the Tiwi Bombers.
The Bombers were quick out of the blocks with Jack Monigatti winning the jump to put his side on the front foot, gifting Jerome Tipuamantamirri the opening score.

However, Districts soon found their feet with James Tsitas active around the ground playing an expansive game that saw Matt Duffy and Josh Innes in the scoring.
Ashton Hams and Gibson Turner were everywhere around the field and it was their efforts that kept Tiwi in the contest early on getting the ball to Austin Woaeamirri who proved an asset with the boot.
Harley Puruntatameri also worked some magic with two goals given in the second quarter, despite umpire conferences surrounding whether the ball had been touched on both occasions.
Big shooter Andrew Boseley came into the game for the Crocs further in becoming an imposing figure once they found themselves on the offensive.
Districts dominated the third quarter with young Jay Dahlhaus feeding the ball to his forward line, with one contribution seeing Tsitas over for his second goal.
But the onset of goals did not completely offset the defensive efforts of Bombers fullback Mason DeWit, who was around the ball as often as possible.
But Tiwi fired into life in the fourth quarter with Jeffrey Simon, Tipuamantamirri and Angus Bryne all kicking goals to level the scoring with just a couple of minutes left on the clock.
With the momentum against them Districts held on their game plan and moved ahead with one final goal for James Bell to split the difference.
“It was a bit too close for comfort if you ask me,” Boseley told the Sunday Territorian.
“We did the work early and got the buffer but they’re a quality outfit who take the game on no matter the score so for us to get away with the win just fills us with confidence.
“We were playing some good footy so we knew that if we kept chewing away and backed our processes we could get some momentum and once you get that it’s pretty hard to stop.
“When they came back at us it was the same stick to our processes and keep control of the footy and defend as hard as we could.”
