SOUTHERN Districts utility Nik Rokahr feels his side can begin stringing a few wins together ahead of their clash against a winless Tiwi Bombers at TIO Stadium on Saturday.

Rokahr put in a best-on-ground performance against the Palmerston Magpies, scoring four goals while collecting a round-high 32 disposals, in what was just the second win of the season for the Crocs.

But Rokahr feels that their scrappy 10.10 (70) to 6.9 (45) victory at Cazalys Arena was just the spark needed to get his outfit firing.

“It was a bit of a scrap in the first half but a pep talk at the half got the boys rolling and from there we played our more free flowing game,” Rokahr told the NT News.

“It was probably one of my better games this season but you are only as good as the boys around you so I was lucky to have that support.

“That win was so important for us. We started the season slow but with some boys coming back we will hopefully start to stick a few wins together to make finals.”

However, the utility isn’t counting out the Bombers, who have shown glimpses of promise in recent weeks without scoring a win.

The inclusion of Allen Christensen and return of Aston Hams has added plenty of offensive power to the Tiwi side, while Mason DeWit has been solid down back.

But Districts have plenty of power of their own, with James Tsitas and Dean Staunton getting plenty of ball in the middle while young Jay Dahlhaus has also been lively in recent weeks.

Andrew Boseley will be keen to add to his goalscoring tally, having scored five last time the Crocs faced Tiwi in Round 4.

“We played Tiwi a couple of weeks ago and though they haven’t won yet they’re a good side particularly with their ins,” Rokahr said.

“They’re a quick team so we will have to make sure not to give them too much ball that they can run with.

“For us our game starts with our pressure. Once we get our pressure game working and get the ball the offensive side of our game will come out and we will be able to play our way.”
