WANDERERS and Southern Districts dominated the stats in Round 4 of the 2020-21 NTFL season with a player from each side making over 30 disposals.

Dane McFarlane has proven himself another strong addition to the Muk Muk’s midfield this season and his 33 disposals (26 kicks, seven handballs) in the match against Palmerston further cemented his place.

And his midfield partner Shaun Mannagh continued his fine form with a showing of 28 disposals including 18 kicks and 10 handballs in another dominant showing.

Equally as impressive was the showing Districts’ standout James Tsitas on Bathurst Island.

Tsitas, just a week after winning the SANFL grand final with Woodville, delivered a best on ground performance with 33 disposals of his own comprising of 16 kicks and 17 handballs.

Following him was Districts captain Dean Staunton whose work rate showed in his 29 disposals coming from 21 kicks and eight disposals.

Saints’ Nate Paredes backed up his Round 3 showing of 30 disposals with a match high of 27 (18 kicks, nine handballs), while also making five marks, five tackles and six clearances, in his side’s win over reigning premiers Nightcliff.

Despite being on the losing side Palmerston’s Chris Williams had another strong stat showing with 27 disposals (18 kicks, nine handballs) alongside eight marks.

Other significant individual stats included Ryan Smith’s 27 hit outs for St Mary’s, a performance that would have decisive in his side’s eventual win.

The story of two halves that was the Buffaloes against Waratah blockbuster becomes even more obvious looking at the side’s respective entries into their opposition’s inside 50.

Buffaloes who survived by six points led through the game on the back of a strong opening where they entered 12 times which remained consistent until the final quarter where they only managed five entries.

On the other hand Waratah started much slower managing nine with zero goals in the opening period but the final quarter saw the Tahs with 18 entries with a return of nine goals.
