PINTS survived a tough clash with reigning premier Tracy Village to further secure their spot atop the Darwin Netball Premier League table.
The 37-28 win maintained Pints’ undefeated status and put the side two wins clear of second, but it was not plain sailing for the leading team.
Tracy Village led for much of the opening half, with Karmen Sampson and Lauren Pluker having particularly strong games for last year’s titleholders.
However, the second-half inclusion of Aaliyah Bailey at goal attack opened up the game for Pints, while the Falcons’ shooting accuracy started to fall away.
Elizabeth Paice moved to centre and made an impact, feeding consistent goal scorer Ashlee Singleton.

Pints coach Chantelle Ayres was proud of her side’s efforts, feeling its collective composure came together in the second half.
“That was a bit of a scare with us down for the entire first half, but we came into our own in the second half with Bailey and Paice making impact,” Ayres said.
“We have a lot more work to do on our front cuts and drives but the team’s composure really stood out.”

Tracy Village coach Sharon Freeman felt her side missed out on a full four-quarter effort and paid the price.
“We made basic errors while Pints kept it controlled and capitalised when they were in the shooting end,” Freeman said. “There’s a lot to work on but the positives are that we can match them and stay with them, but we have to work together as a team more for the whole game.”
Hoggies scored its first win of the season with a 33-32 triumph over Waratahs.
