REIGNING premiers Tracy Village Falcons will be on the hunt to end Pints’ unbeaten run in Round 6 of the Darwin Netball Premier League competition.

Pints were the better of the two sides in the opening round of the 2020 competition and have proved themselves an all-around team since.

But the Falcons have found their feet and have not dropped a game since the opener, with coach Sharon Freeman saying her girls were up for the contest.

“The girls are looking forward to it. We didn’t play our best game in Round 1 and Pints ran away with it, so we will be looking to do better here,” Freeman told the NT News.

“We’re expecting them to bring the consistency they’ve been playing with all season and their goalies have been pretty hot, so we will have to keep an eye on them.

“It will come down to us taking our opportunities and finishing off what we can.

“But we also need to play our game and not theirs, with everyone being on their game for a whole four quarters.”

Lauren Plunker stood out for Falcons in their win over Hoggies last week, making crucial turnovers and she will be looking to do the same this week.

Pints have an all-rounder team with plenty of potency across the court, with Ashlee Singleton scoring well, while Baylee Galbraith is a standout in defence.

In other Round 6 action, bottom two sides Waratahs and Hoggies will fight it out for a spot in the top four.

Waratahs’ lone win this season came against their opponents in Round 1 and will hope to do so again to put themselves four points clear of the bottom of the table.

However, Hoggies have started to gel, giving Falcons a run for their money in a three-point loss last week, with Rachelle Smith and Olivia Hatzismalis both looking strong under the posts.
