Wests Tigers’ win over South Sydney on Saturday night has been marred by revelations of violence involving fans from both clubs.
This masthead has uncovered video on social media of a scuffle in the stands after the Tigers’ 18-16 victory over the Rabbitohs, snapping a seven-game losing streak for the home side at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
The vision show’s a group of Tiger’s supporters appearing to have a disagreement with a Rabbitohs fan, with security surrounding the section, before a scuffle ensued.
It’s unclear if any punches were thrown, but at least one of the people in the video ended up on the ground.
This latest incident comes only a week after a brawl took place in the crowd at the Dolphins v Warriors clash in Brisbane.
A Campbelltown city spokesperson has told this masthead that both fans were escorted from the venue following the altercation.
“Venue security attended an altercation between a small number of fans at the conclusion of Saturday night’s match,” they said.
“Security and police were able to quickly bring the situation under control and those involved were escorted from the venue,” Campbelltown City Council spokesperson.
The NRL have been made aware of the incident.
