As we enter the final third of the season there is one club that’s standing tall above the rest, Mindil Aces FC.

Across the four major senior divisions, Mens/Womens Premier League and Mens/Womens Reserves, the Aces sit in first place.

Still a long way to go in the season, at the present, there isn’t another club who can match the Aces’ form across the board.

In the MPL, the side sit on 32 points from 10 wins, two draws and a loss with an impressive 34-goal difference.

The WPL side have a bit of a closer challenge on their hands, two points above reigning premiers Hellenic on 24 points with eight wins, three losses and a 29-goal difference.

The men’s reserves are in first with 21 points from seven wins and two losses and their counterparts are also in first, boasting 22 points from their seven wins, a loss and a draw.

Club president Cliff Mania is well aware that there’s a long way to go in the season, but admitted he is chuffed to see his club in such a good position.

“Obviously, it’s still early days,” he said.

“But we are proud of our top four teams’ position at the top of the table.

“It reflects how hard everyone has been working and the standard we hold ourselves to at all levels of the club.”

MPL player Callum Kerr put down his side’s current form to an appetite of winning and of course, culture.

“Club culture and the dedication and hard work behind the scenes sets us apart,” he explained.

“Just continue doing what we are doing; maintain the hard work in training and maintain the concentration levels.

“Everyone is very hungry, you can see it in training and our games.

“We take it one game at a time and don't take anything for granted and hopefully we end up in a good place at the end of the season.”
